Our take

Who it's for

Good fit: Someone who wants precise, low impact, injury aware reformer work in a small, clean, bright 10 bed room that rarely fills, with a calm and caring feel, early mornings, mid mornings, 5:30pm Mon to Thu or weekend mornings, and who is happy to be known by name. Strong fit for people over 40, anyone coming back from injury or surgery, and first timers (11 Essential classes a week). About $53 to $54 a week for twice a week

Not for: Anyone who wants to train anonymously or unbothered (instructors are hands on and personal, the regulars are a tight long term community), anyone who wants an open gym or walk in training, anyone who cannot commit 24 weeks plus 30 days notice (buy the 8 pack instead), lunchtime or Fri to Sun evening trainers, ClassPass users, people who want loud music and a sweaty high energy class, budget hunters (dearer than KX Mona Vale), anyone who needs a creche or on site shower (none listed)

What it is

50 min instructor led reformer class, up to 10 people on their own beds, clinical style: physio and sport science trained instructors, precise cueing, hands on corrections and options for injuries (no review mentions music). Four class types: Essential (beginners, required first, 11 a week), Active (the main dynamic class), Strength, Stretchy (recovery, weekend mornings). 55 min privates and duets on reformer, tower and Wunda chair. Yoga Nidra and Kundalini listed but not currently scheduled. Class only, no open floor or key access. Weekly membership or 1 month and 6 month packs

Coaching: Technical and hands on. Physio and sport science trained instructors teach slow, precise Pilates, explain why each move works, walk the room, correct form by hand (clients consent to tactile cueing in the code of conduct) and give options for injuries. Warm and personal rather than hype: reviews say they know your name, your niggles and your birthday. No review mentions music

Gear: 10 reformer beds, a tower unit, Wunda chair and spine corrector (privates and duets), rings, foam rollers and blocks, mirrors. Bright room with big windows and timber floor (Instagram). Grip socks compulsory, sold in studio

Extras: Essential beginner classes (11 a week), Stretchy Reformer recovery (Sat and Sun 10:00am), Strength Reformer, privates and duets on tower and Wunda chair, workshops, Yoga Nidra and Kundalini (listed, not on the current schedule). Injury and post surgery friendly by reputation. No student, teen or seniors offer found
